Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems

| Provides service to youth ages 6-17 in Elk and McKean Counties through a one-on-one relationship between an adult volunteer (age 16 and over) and a child. Volunteers serve as friends, mentors, and role models to help children gain confidence, decrease drug/alcohol use & violence, and increase school attendance. Additional volunteer opportunities include helping with fundraising/activities, donating time/money, or becoming a member of the Task Force. |

Services are provided to children from birth through age 3 with special needs. These services are provided in the child’s most natural environment and may include: service coordination, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, special instruction (teacher), vision and hearing specialists. Also provides fee developmental screenings and evaluations for any children with developmental concerns.

Penn State Cooperative Extension
The mission of Penn State Cooperative Extension is to extend non-formal outreach educational opportunities to individuals, families, businesses, and communities throughout Pennsylvania. To enable the Commonwealth to maintain a competetitive and environmentally sound food and fiber system and prepare youth, adults, and families to enhance the quality of their lives and participate more fully in community decisions.
